Dr. O'Brien is double board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and the American Board of Spine Surgery. He earned his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and completed his post-doctoral training in general surgery, orthopaedic surgery and spine surgery. He is a member of many professional medical societies. He has published multiple articles in the area of endoscopic spinal surgery, edited an educational spinal surgery primer, and presented his research findings at meetings across the country.
